Why volunteering with PhysioNet matters — and how you can help

Volunteering with PhysioNet offers a unique and deeply rewarding opportunity to transform lives for those living with disabilities in Low to Middle income countries around the world.

Every year, PhysioNet sends high-quality, refurbished, disability and paediatric equipment to children and families who would otherwise go without. This vital work relies entirely on the dedication, skill, and goodwill of our volunteers.

By giving your time, you directly help individuals and families achieve greater independence, and improve their quality of life.

Whether you’re a trained therapist, a practical helper, or simply someone with energy and enthusiasm, there is a place for you in the PhysioNet team.

  • Comfortable using email and Microsoft Office.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passionate about making a difference.
  • Preferably residing in the Harrogate, Knaresborough, Wetherby or Ripon area.

  • 8-12 flexible hours per week.

  • Full training and support provided.

Every email answered, every enquiry managed and every shipment coordinated helps transform lives across the world.

  • Helpers at the North Yorkshire depot (Monday mornings) to check and pack equipment, especially powered wheelchairs.
  • Fit and strong volunteers to help load containers once a month, ensuring equipment reaches those in need around the world.
  • Drivers with a clean licence to collect donated equipment using the charity’s vans.

If you have any of these skills—or simply the energy and enthusiasm to make a difference—we would be delighted to welcome you. Every hour you give helps those  living with a disability gain mobility, confidence, and hope.
